INCREDIBLE TRANSPARENT CUBE COMPUTER PROTOTYPE

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own the ultimate in futuristic computer case designs. This computer was developed as a prototype for a part of a case design project and video sculpture that never materialized. This strikingly beautiful example of art and technology is up for grabs for the lucky winner of this auction! (Monitor not included).

This is a totally unique, one-of-a-kind piece of art and engineering, very carefully designed and constructed. It is the only one of its kind in existence in the world. The computer consists of a 10-inch clear acrylic cube, with an 6-inch clear acrylic cube on the inside acting as the “cage”. The cage hold the power supply, hard drive, CD/DVD player, and a Matrix Orbital fluorescent display. It is currently running an Intel motherboard with a 1.2 Gigahertz Pentium (Celeron) processor. (The motherboard can be swapped out for any Flex-ATX design, or a Micro-ATX that is less than 9.6 inches wide). It has 3 usable PCI slots.

This extraordinary custom design took months of development. It is stunning, striking, immaculately constructed, and an amazing thing to see in the light or glowing in the dark.

Not only is the design of this object- d’art beautifully intriguing in its icy glowing crystalline ultra-technology perfection, but it is also painstakingly engineered to be functional. Two LED-lit fans (best of kind) suck air through three sets of ventilation holes, laboratory-tested to help cool the power supply, memory, CPU, DVD player, etc. This ingenious and precision engineered design is exquisite and seductive to look at as well as practical. It will provide years of enjoyment and dependable computing power.

The computer was also engineered to be quiet: all components were painstakingly selected to be the quietest available. The CPU fan is from Quiet PC of Canada. The Hard drive is a Seagate Barracuda IV: the quietest drive available in the industry. The LED-lit case fans have rifle bearings (though admittedly they were chosen because they are super cool looking!).

The Pioneer DVD drive is slot-loading, and sits behind a polished slot in the front of the case. The green access LED light on the drive was replaced with a cool looking tiny bright white LED.

The blue lit cube on the lower left is the power light. The teal colored lit cube on the right is the hard drive light, which flashes with access activity. We are talking futuristic and ULTRA COOL!!! Out- mod the modders!

Some of the Features:

• 10" cube with polished edges. Even the fan holes and DVD slot are polished glass-smooth! (slots in back are not polished).

• Can accommodate any Flex-ATX motherboard, and some Micro-ATX motherboards.

• Super bright and high-contrast green Matrix Orbital fluorescent display can show CPU speed, temperature, time, etc. or anything typed into keyboard. (Speed and temperature display require motherboard that supports it).

• Constructed of 1/4” acrylic. Internal cage is 1/8" acrylic.
